Winter has arrived!

We had a lot of snow fall this week.  I was snowed in on the first day & school was canceled for 2 days.  Here's a couple pictures:

Mom & I had picked up coats & boots for the dogs this year.  They don't mind the coats, but they really don't like the boots.  The boots also don't stay on very well.  I ended up carrying all but 2 home as they fell off their feet on our walk today.

 

Crazy Cat

Cleo has been really mean to me this week. Everytime I walk by her she will growl & hiss at me....unless Chris is home. Whenever Chris is home she acts all sweet & lets me scratch her ears. I took a video to show Chris how she really acts when she's gone.

Can I take him home…please??

I took the dogs up to the high school yesterday so that Daytona could run off some of his energy.  He swiftly ran out of the car & all the way over to the girls baseball field.  I called him back & he ran back to the car with a “present”.  He wanted to take his catch home with him but there was no way I was opening up the car door for him.  I had to call mom to bring up some dog treats because I could not get him to let go of it.  After he finally dropped it I had to pick it up & take it to the nearest garbage can – GROSS!!!

My roomie’s cat, Cleo, has been very naughty this past week.  She peed in my room 3 times!!!  Her privileges of snooping in my room have now been revoked until further notice.  Thanks to my aunt Kristie & my Bath & Body Works wallflower my room no longer smells like cat pee.  :o)

Cleo is having a pretty rough day today.  Actually, this is how she usually spends her day except she’s usually hiding out in my roomie’s room while I’m home.

 

Yesterday afternoon Dad & I gave the dogs haircuts after Mom gave them each a bath.  They look like schnauzers again!

Montauk, a fair, & a call from China

Today my roomie, her mom & I went to Montauk (a Governor’s mansion) in Clermont.  I can’t believe that I’ve never been there before because it’s only 45 minutes away from home & FREE!!  It was also a beautiful place.

Later on this afternoon Jeanne & Jeremy came over & we all headed up to the county fair.  We checked out all the animals & exhibits.  Congratulations to Kaela & Kortney who had some pieces chosen to go to the state fair.  Kortney has even won with her beef cattle & rabbit showings! 

Also, I just got off an hour long Skype call with Steph not too long ago.  She still has about 3 more weeks left in China before she finally comes home on the 31st.  It’s so wonderful to have all this technology so that we can stay connected from half a world away!

Weekend fun

Shayne, Edna & Aliana came back for the weekend last week.  It was great seeing them again!!  Since Edna had never been to our little corner of Iowa in the summer, we took her out & about.

We were all wondering where Larry was & then we saw him strolling along eating out of this huge bag of popcorn – just like a little kid.  :)

Edna had never been to Decorah or seen a waterfall before so Michele & I took her over to Dunning Springs.

Mom & I went out to Grandma’s a couple weeks ago & I took some pictures of her beautiful flowers.

 

 

Grandma made the mistake of setting down her newspaper before throwing it into the burn barrel.  Daytona snatched it up & hopped away with it.
